Mad for Mauve Weddings
Who’s Mad about Mauve? We Are!
Our current color obsession has to be mauve. This retro color was super popular in the 80s. “Just as America went avocado green in the ’70s, it turned mauve in the ‘80s,” note Leatrice Eiseman and Keith Recker in Pantone: The Twentieth Century in Color. These days it is staging a glorious comeback.

Is it Pink or Purple?
Mauve is a pale pastel named after the mallow flower. People sometimes debate whether it is a shade of pink or a shade of purple. Our vote is that this pretty hue lands on the purple side of the color wheel. Somewhere close to violet. And we aren’t mad about that.

We Love A Mauve Bouquet
These luscious floral elements in shades of mauve, purple and cream mix perfectly with greenery. In fact, mauve pairs well with many other colors. Pale pink, blue and grey and even a pop of yellow combines beautifully with the dreamy hue.
