TREND ALERT: Greenery for your Wedding #GiantWreaths #GreeneryBouquets #GreeneryBackdrop
We love the tend towards a greenery-heavy wedding look. From verdant swags, to all-green bouquets and mossy table runners, greenery is making major decor moments at weddings these days. The perfect way to add nature and style to your event, greenery is a fresh alternative to the more traditional floral look. This trend is not only naturally beautiful, but it is also extremely budget friendly. Even if you are getting married indoors with nary a window in sight, using greenery allows you to bring the outdoors in!
There are so many gorgeous types of foliage to chose from, like: lily grass, leather leaf, tree fern, galax, lavender, sage, monstera leaves, ivy, rosemary, cordyline and eucalyptus.
Blue Spruce, Cedar, Magnolia, Pine, Redwood and Juniper are other fragrant choices.
The stunning simplicity of an all green bouquet can be an unexpected and glamorous choice for brides:
Lush fern fronds can soften the look of an all green bouquet, while succulents added to the mix bring in a boho vibe. We love the wild and free feeling of the most unstructured green bouquets that look as if you simply pulled some things out of your yard. They certainly provide a, “Now, why didn’t I think of that when I got married?” moment! (Using a armload of green can certainly save you a bundle of cash, without sacrificing beauty or style!)
A few floral elements can be incorporated into a mostly green bouquet, too. This way, the flowers you chose to include, will definitely pop!
If you decide to go with a permanent bouquet option, Friend of Faux has a great DIY pictorial tutorial below, totally composed of fake stems which look gorgeously real in our opinion:
Another trend we love for ceremonies is the use of a GIANT wreath. These super-sized cuties make a breathtaking and picture-perfect backdrop. (Check out our last blog post, here, on how to make your own giant wreath using a hula hoop and dollar store items.)
Even small greenery wreaths pack a big decorating punch, especially when grouped together. You whip these up yourself in no time at all! And, we love the idea that these wedding decor items could easily find a spot in you and your fiancee’s home after the big day! Imagine how sweet and sentimental it would feel seeing one of your wedding wreaths as you enter your front door every day!

Vibrant swaths of greenery, artfully draped on a frame make amazing arches to say your “i do’s” under.
A totally natural, creeping vine on a brick wall works as well for a photo backdrop for the bride and groom as does a carefully arranged trellis.
Greenery adds a delightful finishing touch to a two tiered, white wedding cake. And who can resist a generous path of green down the center of the reception tables?
